Shapes and Shadows Art and Nature Mini Camp (ages 5-7)
Join us in this art and nature mini camp as we explore the shapes and shadows of summer. We will experiment with the summer sun through solar prints and shadow drawing. Kids will be introduced to nature journaling and spend time each day hiking and recording nature observations. We will also spend time daily in the studio using our inspiration from nature to create shadow art as well as enjoy open art time. We can’t wait to wonder, explore and create with you!
Please dress for mess and the weather. A sun hat and water bottle are recommended.
Shapes and Shadows Art and Nature Mini Camp is mindfully designed by Julee Cowher and Lisa Wheeler, certified elementary school teachers. Space is limited to 16 campers per week working with 2 teachers.
This camp will be held in the Carriage House Workshop and on Brighton Light House grounds.
Supplies:
Each child will need to bring their own mixed media notebook for nature journaling. Approximately 5X8 with heavy weight (140lb) paper is what we recommend - found at Michaels or other craft stores.
Notebooks can also be purchased through the Brighton Light House for an additional fee of $7.00. Simply pre-order your notebook at registration and we will have it waiting for you when you arrive for camp!
All other art supplies will be provided.
