The Creative Naturalist Mini Camp: Exploring the Colors of Summer (ages 8-10)
Join us as we explore and observe like a naturalist through nature study and make connections through the art of nature journaling. We will hike daily in the nature area with a focus on the colors of nature. Kids will learn new techniques for nature journaling which can last a life-time! We will also spend time daily in the studio using our inspiration from nature to create our own color wheels, play with color mixing and pastels to make some colorful art.
We can’t wait to wonder, explore and create with you!
Please dress for mess and the weather. A hat for sun and water bottle recommended.
The Creative Naturalist Mini Camp: Exploring the Colors of Summer is mindfully designed by Julee Cowher and Lisa Wheeler, certified elementary school teachers. Space is limited to 16 campers per week working with 2 teachers.
This camp will be held in the Carriage House Workshop and on Brighton Light House grounds.
Supplies:
Each child will need to bring their own mixed media notebook for nature journaling. Approximately 5X8 with heavy weight (140lb) paper is what we recommend - found at Michaels or other craft stores.
Notebooks can also be purchased through the Brighton Light House for an additional fee of $7.00. Simply pre-order your notebook at registration and we will have it waiting for you when you arrive for camp!
