The Creative Naturalist Mini Camp: Exploring Water (ages 8-10)
Join us as we explore and observe like a naturalist through nature study and make connections through the art of nature journaling. We will hike daily in the nature area with a special focus on water this week and the exploration of Ore Creek. Kids will learn new techniques for nature journaling which can last a life-time! We will also spend time daily in the studio using our inspiration from nature to create a water themed art project as well as enjoy open art time. We can’t wait to wonder, explore and create with you!
Creative Naturalist Mini Camp: Exploring Water is mindfully designed by Julee Cowher and Lisa Wheeler, certified elementary school teachers. Space is limited to 16 campers per week working with 2 teachers.
This camp will be held in the Carriage House Workshop and on Brighton Light House grounds.
Please dress for mess and the weather. A hat for sun and water bottle are recommended.
Supplies:
Each child will need to bring their own mixed media notebook for nature journaling. Approximately 5X8 with heavy weight (140lb) paper is what we recommend - found at Michaels or other craft stores.
Notebooks can also be purchased through the Brighton Light House for an additional fee of $7.00. Simply pre-order your notebook at registration and we will have it waiting for you when you arrive for camp!
All other art supplies will be provided.
