Forest Therapy Walk

Please join us for a Forest Therapy Walk with Balance & Thrive!

Forest Therapy, also known as Forest Bathing or Shinrin-Yoku (a Japanese term meaning "bathing in the forest atmosphere"), is a guided practice that helps people connect with nature for mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It involves slow, intentional walks in a natural setting, focusing on mindfulness, sensory awareness, and relaxation.

There are numerous benefits of Forest Therapy, including:

  • Reduces stress & anxiety – Lowers cortisol levels and promotes relaxation.

  • Boosts mood & mental clarity – Helps with depression, focus, and creativity.

  • Supports immune function – Exposure to phytoncides (natural plant compounds) can strengthen immunity.

  • Lowers blood pressure & heart rate – Encourages deep breathing and relaxation.

  • Deepens connection with nature – Cultivates gratitude, presence, and inner peace.

Unlike a traditional hike, Forest Therapy is not about exercise or reaching a destination—it’s about slowing down, being present, and immersing yourself in the natural world through guided prompts and sensory experiences.

This walk is led by Kelly Parochetti, Certified Forest Therapist and founder of Balance & Thrive.
